I also liked Nirrti, mainly because she looked like a duck when she pulled her "You are going to die" face.

She was also chasing after superman, as am I. ;) Oh this question is too hard... *Re-watches all 200+ episodes*

My favourite and inspiration is Setesh.
Absolutely confident and content to stick with a simple following, true worshippers, and powerful enough (if not too intoxicated) to defend himself against any and all threats.

Besides, he looked pretty awesome. :)

Anubis is a good second, although he by far exceeded the 'System Lord' idea and became something else entirely.. so in that class of his own, he is the one.

Sokar did not need a part in the series to be interesting.  ;D

Yeah. I was just about to say that. Part of what made Sokar so brilliant is that he was barely in it yet had such an impact.. his legacy was massive. He built the fleet the Apophis used to own a lot of the system lords to then get killed and for Anubis to pick up. Sokar did in a lot of respects set Anubis' rise up.. i'm sure he'd have done it himself otherwise but the fall out of Sokar's demise must have been a catalyst.

Sokar's ships were a different color, I'm sure. They were more "orange" than the other ships. Made him a unique system lord, recognizable anywhere. Might just be me though. :(

His jaffa wore orange stained armour too and his technology was better than the other System Lords as obviously he had the abilities to build the super capital ship and to cloak entire hatak vessels.. but anyway.. back to System Lords and not their armies...

Cronus was fairly cool. Yu is an obvious one too, but Cronus had this almost fake arrogance about him, like everything he said was tongue in cheek.

Yeah, Chronus reminded me of the Clash of the Titans gods, with their distant bemusement about the writhing little beings on the planet below. ;) "Oh yes, we are Gods." *chuckles* "But we will not help you."

:P

Wow, so many. I think Yu is my favorite system lord followed by Chronos. I like Yu because although he was a system lord, he had a lean towards how to "lord" over humans. He was the oldest system lord because his Jaffa were more loyal then most. He introduced himself in earth history not as a God, but as the first emperor of the Chinese people. He kind of understood that he could get more from people by placing himself closer to them, hence the fact that he outlived all of his contemporaries other then Anubis who actually only survived due to the fact that he ascended. Chronos, like someone said earlier just really looked the part like from Clash of the Titans. He looked like what would be expected of a Greek titan.

lol. You and Juliette should read up on your greek gods etc and your stargate. Cronus and Chronus are two different beings.  ;)

The former is the father titan, the latter is time. Stargate SG-1 is Cronus, based on the Titan.

I need not check anything. I simply said he reminded me of the Clash of the Titans. Not that he was modeled on anyone.. if I had, I would have been right. ;)

Mythology is part of history. I am a student of history, among many other things. Thanks, doc. 8)
