if you cannot survive on your own then you are not deserving of the status of system lord.  :P

Agreed. Don't be foolish as to think choosing to have allies equates to dependency on a group though.

No alliance will exist where all members can trust each other since we want to play "Stargate System Lords" and not "Stargate let's be friends".

You ain't getting in my alliance then. :P

I told them, that I'd have to get to trust them first. Trust is a big thing for me, but then again, if you're not in my alliance, I'll wipe the floor with your ship and your armies. :D Better make me trust you. :P

I have to say though, wasn't there an alliance of System Lords in SG-1? In that big station thing, where Daniel posed as Yu's servant?

Yes there was something like an alliance but I am pretty sure there was not much trust between the System Lords. And I am pretty sure too that there will be alliances in the game but in how far we can trust each other is argueable.

For all the bravado in this thread, few people will be willing, much less able, to play the evil political mastermind and conqueror this game demands. Paradoxically, inspiring loyalty and respect in your fellow players will be needed to pull it off.

Stargate canon or not.

It depends on the peoples view of 'evil', being 'evil' doesn't mean you have to mistrust your allies, Hitler and Mussolini trusted each other and Hitler was one of the most evil people in history (they ended up defeated and when Mussolini was thrown out of power Italy swapped sides but I think you can understand what I'm getting at) and Mussolini was no angel

I think, as we all play as System Lords, being evil and conniving will be part of the game and in my opinion that is good because it gives the game new possibilities the players must think off. It makes the game more interesting. Lots of people will not play with their own ideo of moral and honor but with the idea a System Lord would have about that, like a new point of view.

BrokenMiracle got it right.

Don't be evil towards your alliance; be evil to everyone who isn't it. Of course it doesn't mean you will be good at it. ;)

I think I know why people like fast games is because 1. Its fast paced (duh xD) 2.people sometimes do not have the time 3.it makes it intense for you to beat the other opponents.

Thanks,
Matt
