It would be nice to be able to cancel a building queue and have part or all of the cost refunded.
If your not willing to refund any cost then allow us the ability to delete the queued building as though it were a completed structure.

It is kind of a problem, and a flaw in the system. It would be nice to see it fixed, but I think there are more important things to be done as well.
