Abandoning a planet

Is it possible? If I reach 10 planets but find a better one, how can I make the change?

Not sure what you mean... After three days of owning a planet you can abandon it and take a new one, but that is somewhat of a waste of naq when you're just starting.

Click the picture of your planet while it's selected (inside the triangle on the left), options tab, "abandon Planet"

Got it. Exactly what I was looking for.

I am not thinking of abandoning any planets now. It is more future thinking. As long as it is an option in the future, I don't have to worry as much about getting the perfect planets now.

Also, two of my planets have stargates. I thought it would be a good thing, but clearly planets with stargates are harder to defend.

nah, gated planets give a 25% naq output boost, so they're good to have a few of. I'd recommend putting 100k slaves on each of your gated planets and 100 naq mines for max production, and put 70 turrets and 50 gate defence, something like that.

Where is this stuff listed? How can I find all of these details? I read the forums, guide, tutorial but don't see anything like that in any doc.

Olek posted a tutorial in the forum the other day, just look back a few posts. There's a s***ty tutorial made by some homeless guy we killed a few weeks ago on youtube, but it's not even worth watching. The guide is in the top right of the in-game screen.
