Name: (the) Lost One / (Lady) Juliette / the Lion

Sigil:Lion. The sigil is etched into the skull of the Jaffa, and the skin is removed off the forehead.
This process allows for a far more permanent marking, disallowing 'Jaffa conversion'.

Official Goa'uld History:One of the first Goa'uld to 'leave' their primordial homeworld, Juliette was inspired enough to leap from the Pools of Origin as an Alteran expedition visited the Homeworld. In awe of her amazing abilities, the Alterans worshipped her and placed her in a safe place to preserve her. When Juliette grew bored of her existence as a revered jar inhabitant, she took the single Alteran worshipper left as a host and departed. After a short stay around Vis Uban, she disappeared from the historical record again, leading to her name 'Lost One'. After Anubis' banishment she reappeared, and has slowly been building her power since. The Jaffa of the Lion's Guard have been appearing through Stargates on numerous worlds recently.

True History:On a routine exploration mission to a primeval planet, the expedition recovered a certain reptilian, serpentine creature displaying extraordinary agility. It was easily taken and stored for research purposes. After a full genetic mapping the creature was put in stasis for several thousand years. The creature was guarded by one soldier, a late-stage Alteran called Alanis. As Alteran morality and the creature's proven sentience disallows it being murdered, Alanis volunteered to be left behind  while the other Alterans ascended or died. She entered stasis as well. After a long time, the stasis device broke down and both the creature and Alanis woke up. The creature woke up sooner and infested Alanis. Subsequent historical records cannot be verified.

Here's one way to still convert the jaffa: Chop his head off... oh, wait, he's died... thats annoying...

On the serious side, wouldn't the jaffa's skin grow back? Then even though he's still got the carving in his skull a new symbol could be written on his skin, and the lion would no longer be seen

Yes, it grows back. But I have taken measures to prevent it from growing back over the sigil. The young ones undergo a painful procedure each month, and I visit them and take their pain away as they lay screaming in agony. When they become adults, I award them with a trinium ring, impressed into their skull. No skin grows beyond that. And, since they have bonded to me while growing up, they know who to die for. ;)

They are 'free'. And they choose me.

Very 'free'

I find it very doubtful that a system lord would have time to visit all the young, so I hope you mean metaphorically, else your'll be to busy doing that do defend that planet on which a giant army is coming through the star gate on...

You've seriously given this thought, I like the 'official goa'uld history' and the 'True history', infact I think I'm going to use a similar thing to write my own one

Great story though idont beleave the Altereans would ever worship a gu'auld or anyone as they were suppereior in  all ways but it is quite a good back story and nice symbol. you have earned the respect of me and my jaffar and that is worth alot...
