• Klingons vs Ancients? Who would win?
Jun 14 2012 4:50 pm
There is people in our area seeing UFO's they even got it on video. It looks pretty good was on the news today. Maybe it will be on you tube and i'll post the link.
Ha it's always these kind of things that make me laugh. I am not a real believer to UFO, Lock Ness Monster, or Big foot, Mermaids, Ghosts, etc. I always used to think I saw UFO's but I really only saw satellites, or asteroids. The problem with UFO's is that, to get to the nearest star it would take 1,000 generations to get there, or in other words 10,000 years going fastest our rockets can handle. The only possible solution (that scientists don't know exist still) are wormholes. Even then the gravity pushing you in would crush you.
I guess I am a party pooper but still I just don't believe
Thanks,
Matt

We are talking about the possibility of alien reaching us. And the human race is pretty young as a result it is possible that there is a older race that has the means to travel faster than we do. Just think of a nuclear powered drive. And I am not talking about something that is faster than light that would not be needed to reach a star in your lifetime because if you travel fast times will go slower for you in comparison to the rest of the universe. So it would be possible to reach another star but you would leave knowing that a return will not do any good because millions of years have passed. But with this two facts it is possible that other lifeforms could reach our planet. But I do agree that it is very unlikely.
Well a nuclear powered drive would be just a fuel devourer and I also doubt that their is a wormhole between earth and the nearest star :P.
Of course there is no wormhole but I did not talk about wormholes. I talked about the time slowing down because of high speed (like Einstein suggest in his theories) and I mean really high speed nearly light speed. If it would be possible to reach this speed with a spaceship (on the particle level of mass humanity proved that such a speed is possible) than someone riding this spaceship would not age much even if he would make a journey which is 100 million lighyears long.
And my point was that a civilization that as been longer around than we could have already invented a drive which could reach such a speed (in theory that is possible) and as a result they would be able to reach earth.
But again I do not think that they would have anything from that as I pointed out in previous post (where I also written about the relativity of time).
To some it up there is a possibility, which does not go against the current knowledge of science, to reach other stars in one lifetime but it is very unlikely that we will get visitors.

Edit: Just like the beginning of the SGA episode 3X10 "The Return"
Yes but at nearly that much speed it would still take many, many, of thousands of years and generations to get there. And I know you did not mention wormholes, I did, because that is probably the only logical answer if UFO's got here and really do exist.
Thanks,
Matt

alert the media i have an idea! what if to avoid crushing by gravity and aging on the trips we find a way to 'digitize' ourselves then download ourselves onto a memory storage medium such as crystals then upload ourselves after we arrive, at scheduled times and way points or when the ships computer determines an emergency. then distance, speed and time wouldnt matter much on trips. our minds would be in the computer database and the computer would use a sample of our d.n.a. to make us a fresh cloned young body at journeys end. and when our bodies get old we just download to a new body like the asguard. there i solved all the problems and made us immortal. lol 8)
