well currently you cant capture military units lol. I'll have to think about that one on maybe future game updates.

I could add in where after a battle that you won there is chances to capture military units. but there is already military losses in the game so it kinda defeats the purpose kinda. Where you can just improve your losses.

Then again if you are attacking with mid range bombers be nice to have a chance to get a mother ship out of it.

One main bonus of capturing planets is you are taking over a planet that another player has taken time and resources to build up.

Ah yeap. Capturing units could be good as it's known to have happened in the tv show at least, Hatak vessels and first primes for example.

Captured first primes tend to be .. unreliable.
As for the 'taking' of ships and other war/production materiel, that does not happen on a large scale in SG. Only large scale incidents involve the Ori.. and we all know what they are. ;)

No? I'd argue Apophis absorbing Heru'urs fleet as this, or Anubis doing the same with Yu, Sokar, Heru'ur and Apophis forces too. Or Sokar and Apophis. SG-1 and their Hatak, SG-1 attempting to take an Ori ship, the two wraith hive ships captured, the entire Goa'ulds way of stealing technology for their own uses or the Tauri for that matter...

Yes, technology and the complete domain of vanquished enemies (a logical consequence of the 'deity vacuum' created by the fall of a System Lord, or even a local Goa'uld lord). Tactical, operational snap decisions. In Anubis' case you can argue that it was a strategy of his to steadily usurp the local System Lords' power in an attempt to bolster his fleet, but Anubis' strategies are Ascended and therefore off-limits. Appealing to the strategies of a Half-Ascender is wrong on a few levels, not the least of which is continuity. You will agree that we cannot have an option to "Summon Ascended Being" to lock other people in eternal combat, by the same reason right? :)

You should see the 'trading volumes' if you would allow regular theft of entire planets and fleets.

As for stealing a single Hatak or attempted theft of an Ori warship, neither occur as a 'rule', and are as such exceptional tactics. ;) Might include that in a 'covert ops' kind of way.. but not as a mass scale dynamic.
Curious to see what will happen in game. :D

no limits wont affect peoples hard work though just the reset would.

limits would be max planets one can own
stuff like that

although the gaming engine makes controlling a lot of planets with ease.

True but if there is a hard cap on things like Army Sizes, etc. Then people will get bored imho.

Summoning an Ascended being to lock in eternal combat would be crazily good. Of course I do jest.

No, I didn't intend for the capture to be on a grand scale. I was thinking more assuming we eventually have battles involving a few hundred hatak's then maybe there is a 1% chance every hatak destroyed is captured by the winner. So assuming in a battle 60% of 300 hataks are killed on the losing side, that gives us 180 dead which might get us 2 Hatak's assuming I did the maths right (admittedly I did it in a hurry). Its hardly game breaking.

Ah yes. That does make more sense. ;D
I could see how one would disable certain crew members and take over the occasional ship, yes.

That makes it oh so worth while, as a little guy :) No one would want to sign up to a game that think will be good the get overpowered by another extremely powerful goa'uld... like myself ;)
