Weaponized hyperspace window?

Would it have been capable to use hyperspace window as a weapon during space battles in stargate?

In Farscape, I remember one of the Leviathan vessels activating "starburst" (their version of hyper-drive) inside and enemy vessel and both ships were disintegrated.

Would doing that in an open field space battle work? I know the Vanir used it as guerrilla tactic, but what if it could be used to open a hyperspace window at the exact spot an enemy vessel was located at that very moment.
